Chapter XVI: Gratitude

Chapter XVI: Gratitude

I seem to be a bit slow off the mark, but Freyja has reached 1000 followers!

To be honest, I am blown away.  When embarking on this project, I found it hard to believe that even 100 people would be interested; now we have over 1000.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. Your support means a very great deal indeed.

It has been quite a journey so far.  Bought on a visit home, the result of a leaking transfer case in Rogue, she has been my trusted companion for just over a year now.   She spent more time than I think she would have preferred as a completely stock truck as I assessed and determined which direction I wanted to go with her.

Talking to Josh at Apex Overland in North Carolina provided me with my, at least initial, direction. A way to avoid the mistakes that I had made with Rogue, not spend money that I didn’t need to spend, but a way to not buy cheap and disposable parts.  We went forward and I purchased the lift, a Toytec/Bilstein collaboration that would provide excellent on and off road performance without breaking the bank. KD Wheels and BF Goodrich All Terrain TA TO2 tires rounded out the first, and so far only, round of modifications.  In this configuration, she has been to the beach and the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia. She has pulled a U-Haul up the Eastern Seaboard and the across the great lakes bringing me home. She has roamed the cities, lakes, and forests of Minnesota, and she is not done yet!

Admittedly, there has been a bit of a slowdown lately.  There has not been a second wave of modifications and the winter, as well as school and work, have cut into my ability to adventure.  But this is a temporary situation. There are plans in the works, my friends, big plans. Plans for more modifications to include a roof rack and rock sliders.  Plans for trips that include the Superior National Forest and a plan to return to St. Croix and Nemaji State Forest.

So, to those of you who have noted the slowdown, I promise it’s a temporary situation.  To those who are new, welcome! We’re glad you’re here! To those of you who have been here for a while, I appreciate your support!  To all of you, Thank you! I look forward to sharing the next chapter with y’all!
